One-Step Shield Grounding: Fast, Sealed, and Reliable

Applications

Designed for efficient shield-to-ground termination, this series features an all-in-one structure with a pre-installed ground lead, solder ring, and thermoplastic sealing rings. A single heating step solders the cable shield to the ground lead while providing environmental sealing. To guarantee process reliability, advanced models feature thermochromic or BiAlloy temperature indicators that visually confirm proper heating. Available in materials ranging from Polyolefin to Fluoropolymer, the series covers operating temperatures from 125°C to 200°C, suitable for standard commercial to extreme industrial environments.


Series Overview

• SS125B: Polyolefin sleeve, the solder rings meet environmental protection requirements.; for standard commercial environments up to 125 °C

• SS125C: Polyolefin sleeve, general-purpose for up to 125 °C

• SS150E: PVDF sleeve, BiAlloy temperature indicator; up to 125 °C

• SS150F: PVDF sleeve, thermochromic temperature indicator; immersion-resistant, up to 150 °C, available with or without preinstalled ground lead

• SS175G: PVDF sleeve, high-temperature thermochromic indicator; immersion-resistant, up to 175 °C

• SS175H: PVDF sleeve, high-temperature BiAlloy indicator; immersion-resistant, up to 175 °C

• SS200H: Radiation-crosslinked modified fluoropolymer sleeve, BiAlloy temperature indicator; highest temperature rating, up to 200 °C, ideal for extreme environments

BiAlloy Temperature Indication System 

This system significantly enhances the reliability and repeatability of SS150E series terminators through built-in process control. The heat-shrinkable sleeve contains a precision-engineered, fluxed solder band that provides the exact amount of solder required for shield-to-ground termination. Encircling the solder band is a fusible BiAlloy temperature indicator ring. This ring is designed to melt only when the surfaces to be joined have reached the proper wetting temperature. This feature provides immediate visual verification of a successful bond, ensuring consistent quality and reducing installed cost.

Thermochromic Temperature Indicator 

The SS150F series terminators contain a colored thermochromic temperature indicator that exhibits a distinct color change when surfaces have reached wetting temperature. This color change gives both manufacturing and Quality Control an aid in the inspection of the completed termination.
